Sorry for mentioning the C word a litle too early. However our last race meeting of 2009 takes place on Sunday 6th December so we are getting into the Festive mood earlier than others.  Come racing on Dec 6th and get your €5 food or drink voucher on admittance. Enter our fee racecard draw for a 2010 Annual Membership Badge. Enjoy the Live Music in our Club Stand Bar form 3pm to 5pm. Forget the shops and all the rushing around. Have a really relaxing day with family and friends at Clonmel races. Its all refurbished and lookin good.  See you Dec 6th. All kicks off at 12.45pm.

Teachers Treat – No Trick

Here at Clonmel Races we kinda feel sorry for school teachers. They don’t have it easy in fairness. So this Halloween we are going to let them into our racemeeting (Thurs 29th Oct) for half price (thats €7.50 instead of the usual €15). And they can bring a friend, partner, family member along for the company and they too will get in for half price. All we need to see at the turnstile is some form of teacher ID. Loads of complimentary nibbles too in our ’spooky’ Club Stand Bar. What else would you be doing on a Thursday. See you there. Sunday racing at Clonmel

With the sun continuing to shine what better way to spend this Sunday than by taking a trip to the races at Clonmel. The first of 7 races gets underway at 2.25  All hurdles or chases which everyone seems to enjoy at Clonmel. Its probably because you can get so close to the action. We have a group of visitors coming from the USA and we wonder what they will think of our racecourse. To be honest though it does look lovely at this time of the year.  Sunday will also see the re-opening of our on-course betting shop. Ladbrokes are the new tenants and no doubt there will be many pleased to see this facility available once again. And don’t forget that we have loads of dining options at the racecourse whether you want a Carvery Lunch, Sausages and Chips,  Soup and Sandwiches or just simply a Coffee with a cream bun. See you on Sunday !!!

Cancelled fixture rescheduled for next Monday

The good news is that the race meeting which was supposed to take place today Thursday has been rescheduled for next Monday 7th September. The first of 7 races will get underway at 4.25. No doubt loads of people will have Monday off work to recover from the All Ireland final on Sunday so what a great way to finish off what we hope will be a mighty weekend. Anyone wearing a Tipperary jersey will gain admission for €10 and of course all Senior Citizens will be admitted for the special price of €5. Music in Club Stand Bar also.

No racing on Thursday

Due to ground conditions the race meeting due to take place tomorrow (Thurs 3rd Sept) has been called off. We hope to have a new date for the fixture in the next few days and it will appear here.

Back racing on September 3rd

Yes folks, we are back racing on Thursday 3rd September.  It is an evening meeting but because the nights are closing in we have to start at 4.40pm. It will be a mixture of Flat & National Hunt racing. The’Man in Black’ Mick Mackey will be providing the musical entertainment in the Club Stand Bar.  And we are treating our more Senior supporters (OAPs) to special price admission of just €5. So if any of you want to treat the Ma, Da, favourite Uncle, Grand Mother etc to a night at the races this is the day to do it. Maybe some of you know someone involved in a Senior Citizen or Active Retirement Group. If you do, please spread the word.  Our caterers Excellent Choice Catering Company have kindly agreed to supply complimentary teas, coffees and biscuits in the Club Stand throughout the evening too.

Super Friday BBQ Evening

Two evening meetings down and two to go. Lets hope for better weather for next two.  Next meeting is our big Super Friday BBQ Evening meet on Friday June 12th. Ladies Evening at Clonmel Racecourse

The next Ladies meeting will take place on Thursday 21st of May 2009,  first race starts at 5.40.  All ladies will gain entry for a discounted price of €10 (this inludes admission and race card).  The weather forecast looks good for Thursday evening so hoping for a big turn out!
